Dr.
Ian
Sok, DAOM was born in southern South Korea in South Jeolla provence
- where he began learning about herbs and acupuncture from local monks
at an early age. At 24 he came to the U.S. - where he received formal
training from the Academy
of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences in Oakland, Calif. Upon
completion of his studies, he was awarded the degree of Master
of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM).
Dr. Sok holds a Master's Degree in Eastern
Philosophy (M.Litt.) from Dongguk
University, and he completed his Doctor
of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM)
at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.
The DAOM degree is the highest formal educational credential available
in the field of acupuncture and Oriental medicine in the United States.
